The ideal candidates for most BBL procedures have a body mass index (BMI) of 25-30 and benefit from the liposuction to narrow their waist or flatten their tummy. Candidates for a small BBL may have a BMI of less than 25 (usually less than 21) and minimal fat on the abdomen, requiring specialized and creative liposuction options to harvest the needed fat for the procedure.
BBL for Women With Small Frames
A small or skinny BBL is designed for women with athletic builds, low BMI or small frames. While there is less fat to harvest, the amount of fat needed to create the desired result is also less. Some petite patients may need to use other areas for retrieving fat than the abdomen, including the upper arms or thighs.
