Like Botox, Dysport uses a neurotoxin to interfere with muscle contractions, relaxing the facial muscles to smooth away dynamic lines. Dysport is FDA-approved for treating glabellar lines, the 11’s that appear between the eyebrows. There are many similarities between Botox and Dysport in effects, but some individuals may prefer one over the other. Dysport can work quicker in some people versus Botox, but it is not recommended for those who have a milk allergy. In most people, Dysport injections begin smoothing frown lines in about 3-4 days, and the effects last up to four months.
Frown Line Treatment
Dysport injections can be performed during a 15-minute office visit. Multiple injections are given to target the desired muscles to relax dynamic lines. Dr. Ali Charafeddine and our team can determine the right dosage to give the results you desire. Most people have little or no side effects from their Dysport frown line treatment. The most common side effects are slight bruising or swelling at the injection site, but these quickly fade away. There is no recovery or downtime needed.
